It all started with a group cruise Cruise Freek Forums is organizing for charity in association with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in October, 2010. And, the idea has taken off like wildfire, seems most of the people on Cruise Freek Forums care about their fellow human beings and, therefore, a number of our cruises will be making donations in association with our cruise groups.
What does this mean exactly, usually it will mean instead of $100 on-board credit, you'll get $50 and the other $50 goes to charity. You still get your cruise and, you get to do something for someone else you really needs your help. Now, you can support group cruises on other boards who do nothing or you can join us and make your trip worthwhile for you and someone else.
For the 2010 Christmas sailing, we are once again aligning ourselves with Toys For Tots.
It all starts by you placing your email on our opt-in list located here:

Christmas Cruise 2010 from New Jersey
It's beginning to feel a lot like summer, so, why am I blogging about a Christmas Cruise - that's more than 2 years away? Simple, it's call promotion. What's the point of having a great product or in this case cruise deal, if no one knows about it? Am I right?
Cruise Freek Forums is almost a year old and still very much unknown. There are a lot of people who think there is only one cruise message board out there and, it's not true. Unlike the other boards Cruise Freek Forums don't have a lot of silly rules or board politics or favorites. You should come over and give us a try! We have free cruise quotes, professional travel agent board hosts, and freedoms such as the ability to recommend travel agents, place contact information in your profile and lots of other liberating features!
We also have a bounty of cruise opportunities including:
- Grand Princess - Caribbean Holiday Cruise- December 19, 2008
- Celebrity Solstice in Europe - May 25, 2009
- Explorer of the Seas - Bermuda - June 20, 2009
- Queen Mary 2 - New England/Canada - July 1, 2009
- Radiance of the Seas - Alaska - July 17, 2009
- Celebrity Equinox Inaugural - Europe - August 8, 2009
- Mariner of the Seas - Mexico - October 11, 2009
- Project Genesis Inaugural Sailing - Fall, 2009
- Queen Mary 2 - Caribbean Holiday Cruise - December 20, 2009
Cruise Freeks is proud to offer BOTH PEAK AND OFF PEAK WEEK GROUP CRUISES!
BACK TO CHRISTMAS CRUISE 2010
Our pre-cruise plans are going to be rather unconventional for a sailing from Cape Liberty, Bayonne, NJ at Christmas. If you have a tight budget, we apologize but, this is what the majority want on the message board and, unlike other boards, majority rules on Cruise Freeks Forums Cruise Message Board.
We are planning one and two night pre-cruise packages in Manhattan. Yes, you read right, Manhattan. We understand fully that hotel prices are going to be double of hotels located in New Jersey but, it's part of the experience we are offering our cruisers. Why? Because Manhattan during the Holidays can only be described as magical. Currently in the works are plans to offer a city holiday lights tour (a very worthwhile enclosed bus tour that will allow you to see all the glam and glitter without the blisters on your feet), and, we are currently taking a poll to see if people would rather attend a Broadway show or go to Radio City for the Christmas Spectacular or both. We will be including dinner in the package and, it's going to be a wonderful time for all who join our group.
Some people like to make arguments about holiday cruises - that's they're too expensive. However, one could argue that the money saved on buying Christmas presents, food, your time and factoring intangible expenses such as aggravation, a few hundred dollars might just off-set the extra cost!
It is also the opportunity for the majority of people to escape Winter's cold grasp to enjoy some fun in the sun in the beautiful, tropical Caribbean.
Additionally, with the price of gas climbing and climbing with no signs of slowing down, cruising is becoming one of the best vacation values around, even more than it already is and this is a proven fact, not just opinion!
I think the biggest argument of why people don't sail during the holidays is family related issues like "My parents will kill me if we don't come to visit". Well, here's a thought...why not invite them along? It's not like a cruise is a last minute decision as studies show that most people book their cruise 6 months in advance and with holiday sailings it jumps to over a year in advance; so, there is time to set up a budget and pay it off as the months roll along. And, being the veteran of many holiday sailings I've seen more extended families on board during holiday sailings than any other time of year.
Another family related issue is that the kids will miss Christmas at home - interesting argument because the kids I see on the ships don't look like they are missing a thing! Santa always manages to find the cruise ships, clever parents can bring presents along with them as token gifts, and, I'm sure it's a better memory maker being on a cruise with their family than sitting around listening to same stories told by relatives...again.
So you have over a year to think about it and discuss it. Pricing for Christmas/New Years will be out sometime in April, 2009. It will be to your advantage to sign up today for our no obligation newsletter because that's exactly what it is...NO OBLIGATION. All the newsletter will do is keep you informed about this sailing. You can unsubscribe at anytime and it's FREE!
WHAT'S THAT?
Why are we sailing from the cold weather port of Bayonne, NJ? Because an estimated 60 Million people live within a four hour drive of Cape Liberty, Bayonne, NJ. That eliminates the hassle of flying for lots of folks. And that's who we're targeting. We're also targeting those who wish to take advantage of our New York for the Holidays pre-cruise package.
